SUMMER STAFF JOB DESCRIPTION

Wage: $11.00 @ 35 Hours/week

Field Technician

Responsible for conducting museum tours and public fossil dig tours, assisting with museum exhibits, fossil collection and public outreach.

Qualifications: Background or classes taken in palaeontology, geology, zoology, or archaeology, First Aid and CPR, valid Driver's license, currently a full time post-secondary student returning as a full time student in the fall and good public relations.

Youth Program Co-ordinator

Responsible for organizing and implementing daily activity programs for youth ages 5-12. Promote youth programs and assist with public outreach.

Qualifications: background or within the faculty of Education, First Aid and CPR, experience with youth programs, currently a full time post-secondary student returning as a full time post-secondary student in the fall.

Science Educator

Responsible for planning and delegating tours to field technicians. Overseeing the supplies and materials for programs in the museum and in the field. Assisting with fossil excavation and recovery including field notes and all data collection from public fossil sites.

Qualifications: 3rd or 4th year student in paleontology, geology, zoology, or archaeology or 1-2 seasons of fossil excavation experience. Experience with programs. First Aid and CPR, valid driver`s license, currently a full time post-secondary student returning as a full time student in the fall and good public relations.

Lab Technician

Provide fossil preparation to the collection, provide tours of the collection room and laboratories and assist in fossil preparation at the dig sites.

Qualifications: First Aid and CPR, WHMIS is an asset, full time post-secondary student returning as a full time post-secondary student, have an interest in fossil preparation or have taken a zoology or physical anatomy course.
