Manitoba School Science Curriculum and are grade specific.

SCHOOL DIGS 

School Digs allow students to excavate (dig) for real fossils along side museum staff.   The dig sites are a 20 minute drive from the CFDC into the scenic Manitoba Escarpment.  School Digs run from May-June and September. Bookings begin in January. 

Other youth organizations are permitted to participate in School Digs, following the same costs and conditions.  Digs for youth organizations are available from May-September.  Participants must be between the ages of 10 and 18. 

Transportation must be provided by the school to the CFDC and the dig site.  Please note that travel time from Winnipeg (perimeter and Highway 3) is approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Grades 4-12
10:00am - 2:00pm (It is important for the group to be on time to prevent scheduling conflicts)
20 students plus = $5.00 per student
10 - 19 students = $7.00 per student
Adult Supervisors = Free

Minimum number of student participants must be 10 and a maximum of 45 to participate in School Digs.  Schools should provide a ratio of 1 adult for every 5 students.

MUSEUM TOURS 

Guided museum tours are for all grades including preschoolers. The tours are educational emphasizing specific aspects of the curriculum for the given age group. Tours are offered year round between 9:00am and 3:00pm. Other youth organizations are permitted to participate. 

Preschool - Grade 12
60 - 90 minute duration
Minimum: 10 students
Maximum: 45 students
Preschool - Kindergarten: $2.00 per student 
Grade 1-12:                      $2.50 per student 
Adult Supervisors:             Free 

All Day 10:00am - 2:00pm

                        - All levels: $5.00 per student
