Groups begin with an educational tour of the Centre with a qualified guide, learning about Manitoba's prehistory. Then join the CFDC staff at a dig site searching and excavating 80 million  year old fossils.

Group digs allow adult organizations to learn and experience the life of a paleontologist. The dig sites are a 20 minute drive from the CFDC into the scenic Manitoba Escarpment. Public Digs run from May-September. Bookings begin in January. Register no less than 1 week in advance.

Transportation must be provided by the organization to the CFDC and the dig site through a bus or van service. Individual vehicles are not allowed on dig site. Please note that travel time from Winnipeg (perimeter and Highway 3) is approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.

The Public Dig Program runs from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. It is important for groups to be on time to prevent scheduling conflicts. (see itinerary below)
